The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) has appointed Indian actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as an International Goodwill Ambassador.
In her new role Bachchan will help raise awareness of HIV infections in children and campaign for increased access to antiretroviral treatment.
